BASICS
Name: Kunihiro Aida (相田国広 - Aida Kunihiro). Took his mother's last name.
Nickname: He won't mind particularly if someone calls him Kuni.
Age: 17.
Gender: Male.
Sexuality: Panromantic demisexual.
Birthday: 17 December.
CLASSIFICATIONS
Race: Vampire.
Powers: Being a vampire, Kuni's senses are slightly enhanced, particularly his sense of smell, and his memory has improved by quite a bit; his speed and physical strength have also gotten better, but not so much that he is noticeably superhuman. He possesses a weak form of psychic power in that he can tell what people are thinking, but cannot influence or control minds like very old vampires. However, his most prevalent power (odd for a vampire) is the ability to heal himself and others through physical contact, though this mostly just applies to himself.
PHYSICAL
Height/Weight: He stands at 170cm, or 5'7", and weighs around 130-140lbs, or around 60kg.
Appearance: Kunihiro has refined features - aqua eyes, a slender nose, and undefined jawline. He has medium-hue skin, though he has paled a bit since being turned; as evident from his weight compared to his height, he is very thin and willowy, and not at all well-built. He has several small moles on his face - under his left eye, one on his cheek. His dark hair is often tousled, because he finds that since being turned, his reflection is a little blurry and he often can't style his hair. When he is feeding, enraged, or otherwise disturbed (and sometimes even right after he's woken up), his eyes shift to contain a red hue with yellow surrounding his pupil. It's a vampire thing, he guesses. On casual days, usually Kunihiro wears a light jacket or hoodie, dark-colored shirt, snug jeans, boots, and a beanie. He's slightly fashion-conscious.
Markings?: The vampire who bit Kunihiro wasn't exactly... the gentlest, one could say, and rather seemed a bit frenzied from lack of sustenance, so Kunihiro has several scars on his upper back and one thin line raking up from his collarbone to his right shoulder.
Hindrances: Kunihiro has weak lungs, and as such his breathing skills are a bit subpar.
MENTAL
Personality: Kuni is a gentle, bookish type of boy; he is slow to anger, rarely showing any signs of irritation. He is patient by nature, and good with children by virtue of this; he enjoys their company and some of their joyous personalities rub off on him, making him happier as well. He tends to give off a vibe of liking warm, well-lit places, which is... pretty accurate. He does like them.
Generally, being a quiet person would mean, by extension, not being too social; however, this young man seems to break that rule quite obviously. He's very friendly, talking to people that he doesn't know all the time, and in the most seemingly random places - if he saw someone he recognized from college on the streets, he'd definitely wave them down to say hello. He's cheerful without being overly intrusive, speaking with an easy grace that suggests that he really knows how to read people.
... Which is an absolute lie. Kunihiro is absolutely terrible with people in all actuality, but at this point he's messed up speaking so many times, he's learned from his innumerable mistakes. This leads to the conclusion that he is a fast learner, which is true; Kuni may not be the most intelligent on his own, but give him a lesson and he'll never forget it. He likes to describe that as not being able to come to his own conclusions, which is mostly true; the boy doesn't have much of a strong will and rather just goes with the flow, rather passively. He doesn't have many ideals of his own.
Kunihiro, while technically an extrovert, also loves staying in and reading books. Often, he will go to the library, check out a heap of various genres of novels, take them home, and then lock himself in his room for a while and not come out. He's a very fast reader, which annoys him when he's reading fiction but has probably saved his life many times over when it comes to homework assignments. He's also a responsible person, generally finishing everything on time and getting it turned in even if he procrastinates like no one's business.
Health Issues?: Kunihiro has struggled with some minor bouts of clinical depression in the past. Even though he has moved past that stage of his life, he does tend to lose interest in things a bit fast, though he tries to stay dedicated. His feelings of happiness, too, seem to still be a little muted. He can enjoy himself when he's having fun just fine, but he doesn't generally feel as excited as he thinks he should, and it leads to some sort of existential debate with himself most of the time - although this doesn't tend to happen often.
BACKSTORY
Parents: Natsu Aida (mother, deceased); Rachi Shah (father).
Siblings: None.
Other Relations: None.
History: Kunihiro lived a very ordinary life, for the most part. His mother died shortly after giving birth to him due to several complications, which would normally lead to a home-life crisis, but his gentle and kind father never thought anything like Kunihiro being the one who had caused his mother's death. Kunihiro himself never really felt any grief toward his mother's death, as he did not know her, but he did feel a sort of longing.
Growing up with a caring father, Kuni never really ran into any trouble; however, he did, seemingly randomly, fall into periods of depression. He always tried to shake it off when it did happen, and though Rachi didn't quite understand why, he always tried to help Kunihiro. Eventually, without much incident, Kunihiro went to a well-respected college, but while still in his first year, what could be called the first big event in his life, really, occurred.
When he was walking back to the dorms one day, Kunihiro happened to pass an alley; as he looked past his shoulder to glance back at the strange and menacing presence he felt from it, he was suddenly assaulted by a vampire. He was slammed against the alley's wall, his bag slipping from his hands, and as the vampire drank his fill in a blood-hazed frenzy, it would seem that he somehow turned Kunihiro into one as well.
When Kunihiro awoke the next morning outside the alley, pale and weak, he noticed the sun seemed very bright. Over the next few days, though, he finally realized something was different; he neglected to go see a doctor, because how would he... explain something like that, really? But as he lived his life, he noticed that the food he ate did nothing to help his hunger. Through a rather unfortunate series of errors, and probably a very suspicious-looking log of searches on Google, Kunihiro found out what he feared: that he'd been turned.
Still, he was skeptical. Even as he snuck blood transfusion packets from the hospital he worked at as an intern, he still doubted - until finally he received the letter from Finix Academy.
