Powers: Maya's powers are centered around water. With an unconscious thought she can make bubbles out of moisture in the air. Beyond that Maya can sort-of control bodies of water. Sort-of as in she can make small shapes and figures but as the water increases so does her control of it. Another power that's unrelated to water is her voice. Maya's singing voice is able to make someone(unless they're immune to sound based powers or other circumstances)extremely tired.
PHYSICAL

5'6" and 146 lbs

Maya has dark blue hair that almost always seem to be wet at the tips. She has wide light blue eyes, often hidden behind a pair of glasses. Her skin is a peach color, with freckles dotting all across her body. Maya's ears are a just a bit pointed at the tips as well. Her body build is actually rather thin and a bit muscular due to swimming often.
When it comes to accessories she's fond of wearing pearl necklaces with all of her outfits. Her clothing style is rather loose and comfortable, and honestly probably easy to take off in case of emergency swim time.
Markings?: She has a scar on her right knee from scraping against a rock during a dive.

MENTAL
Personality:
Maya is shy and anxiety ridden, simple as that. She's unsure of how to interact with others, especially those her age. It's led to her stuttering and voice cracking in front of people numerous times, only increasing her anxiety. When you get closer to her well, her voice doesn't crack as much. She does have a giving nature though and often donates to charity when she can, or buy presents for her loved ones. Though Maya has an eccentric taste in gifts, as I'm rather certain not many people would like getting eel skin as a present. Still she genuinely tries to do what she thinks is best for others, or what can help them out. Maya wants to make friends and become better at interacting with others, she's just rather timid.
Though when it comes to love she becomes rather cold. Her family history has made her wary and unbelieving in love leading to her developing a distaste for anything romantic in nature.
Health Issues?:
She has social anxiety and gets nervous around other people easily. If her skin starts to dry out and a room becomes to hot she WILL faint from dehydration, which is why she always carries lotion around for emergencies.
BACKSTORY
Parents:
Angie, her mother, was an Undine who tricked her William, her father, into marrying her so she could have an immortal human soul. While her father does love her mother unconditionally, Maya's mother does not love her father at all.

Other Relations:
An uncle though she doesn't know much about him besides that fact that he's her father's younger brother, and he recommended her for the academy.
History:
The summer before she joined the academy Maya started exhibiting serious control with her water powers, and even her singing voice. Without realizing it she would be talking out bubbles or accidentally singing her dad to sleep. The stress of what was happening only increased her loss of control. While the kept happening her dad got into contact with his brother, expressing his worries and wondering what on earth he could do to fix this. A reply eventually came from Maya's uncle with a recommendation letter stating that Finix Academy would be a good fit to try. Though a bit hesitant the Irving family got into contact with the school and Maya was sent off to see if her problems could be fixed.
