BASICS
Name: Calem Lowell
Nickname: He likes to be called Lowell.
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Biromantic asexual
Birthday: 21 March
CLASSIFICATIONS
Race: Half-Seraph
Powers: Most of Lowell's powers revolve around healing: he is able to figuratively "burn away" injuries and leave his subject as healthy as they had been before, as well as cause more severe wounds to heal much faster both on himself and those around him, without even touching them (but only in a small radius). Excessive use causes extreme tiredness.
Though his other power is not associated with Seraphim, he is also able to cause calmness through singing, but is too embarrassed to sing in front of anyone.
PHYSICAL
Height/Weight: He's around 177cm, or 5'10", and weighs only about 120 pounds.
Appearance: Lowell has longish coppery hair which reaches about halfway down his neck before abruptly being chopped off. Long locks frame his face, and his long fringe is often pushed to one side but parts where it's not supposed to. Sometimes he'll tie his hair up in a small ponytail, but the fringe stays. The fringe always stays. He has pale skin and a few freckles sprinkled around the bridge of his straight nose; his eyes are often downcast, but when he looks up it's apparent that they're grey. His build is quite lanky, with long limbs and a skinny frame.
Typically, Lowell wears thicker clothing and bundles up pretty well - a thick jacket or coat over a sweater with skinny jeans and boots or sneakers. In particularly chilly weather he also wears scarves; he tends to feel cold quite acutely.
Markings?: He's got a small crescent-shaped scar to the right of his upper lip.
Hindrances: He has low blood pressure, which isn't so much of a serious problem as it is a hassle to get him up in the morning. In addition, due to the draining nature of his powers, he ends up sleeping more often than not after using them.
Faceclaim: Colin, Prague Race
MENTAL
Personality: Lowell could definitely be described as jittery; the boy is constantly on edge, and seems to always be at least a little nervous. Accompanying this disposition is one of shyness, and he rarely speaks up, preferring to mumble or bow his head when talking, though it's not as though he doesn't speak much. He's about average in regards to how much he talks, if he does err a little on the silent side.
He tends to apologize a lot, despite paying so much mind to his actions that he hardly ever makes mistakes. He's easily embarrassed and flustered, and is also quite gullible and childish in that regard. He has next to no awareness, and because of his timid nature, he is quite easily startled, so people popping up next to him could quite literally cause him to keel over in shock.
In spite of his normally timid disposition, around the right people, he can loosen up and crack a smile, or even be snarky, but this takes a while; the last person he was this close to was his brother, and it took him a long time to open up, even being related.
Health Issues?: He has mild social anxiety, so whenever he does talk, he stutters and isn't sure of what to say if he doesn't want to offend others of appear strange. He often averts his eyes and puts a hand to his mouth when talking as nervous habits.
BACKSTORY
Parents: ?? (Unknown Seraphim father); Maria Lowell (mother); Jackson Flannelly (stepfather).
Siblings: Allen Flannelly (half-brother).
Other Relations: Grayson Ayers (vague acquaintance).
History: Lowell grew up in a strange household, that was for sure. His mother Maria wasn't even aware that the person she had ended up marrying was a Seraph in the first place, and when he just up and left her a short while after Lowell was born, she was quite distraught. Thus, Lowell's earlier years consisted of getting just enough attention to stay basically healthy.
Soon, however, Maria remarried, this time to a man named Jackson Flannelly. The two had a child, who was Lowell's younger brother, and during this period of time, Maria became quite happy and content, far from the reclusive figure she had been up to then.
Lowell cared quite a bit for his younger brother, and Allen was quite close to his brother as well; the two got along very easily, and it wasn't until Lowell's Seraph powers finally awakened that things within the household changed. One day, while the brothers had been playing around in the woods surrounding the house, Allen fell from a high branch on a tree and landed hard on his arm, shattering the bone.
Lowell, panicked, immediately dashed over to where his brother was crying out, not knowing what to do, the boy knelt down beside his brother and tried to move him so that he wasn't laying on his arm. As soon as Lowell touched the injury, though, the crying stopped and Allen lay quiet.
By then, his shouts had already attracted their parents, who had watched as Lowell healed Allen's arm instantaneously. They immediately dashed over, both taking Allen from Lowell as soon as they were close enough. It was obvious that whatever Lowell had just done wasn't normal, and they had to keep their second son away from whoever the first was.
It was around this time that Lowell received his letter for Finix Academy, barely in middle school. Eager to find out what was wrong with him, Maria sent him off to the school, and there he was quite miserable. He had no idea what he was, and no one seemed keen on telling him, and so he felt ostracized and judged, resulting in his already timid personality bowing even more. After a few years, though, he heard of a movement called the Resistance, which opposed the academy and what it stood for. With nothing else to do, Lowell just left, leaving his bond partner behind and all.
Once he had left the Academy, he was witness to one of Grayson Ayer's calls to action. Hearing the problems with the Academy addressed, he made up his mind and joined the Resistance.
STANCE
Alliance: Resistance.
