BASICS
Name: Eirlys Ákos
Nickname: Snow Queen, Icey,
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Birthday: January 1st
CLASSIFICATIONS
Race: Snow Elf (Half-Breed)
Powers:
Ice Magic: Elves are generally gifted in magic, depending on the tribe they come from. Although weak in her younger years, due to her time spent training at Finix, Eirlys' magic skills have become quite strong. She is capable of producing snowstorms, icicles, mist, and the list goes on. Eirlys is a formidable foe, however, depending on the level of magic she uses, she can become tired fairly quickly.
Healing Magic: Although weaker than an elf from a nature based tribe, Eirlys has the capability of healing-- to some degree. The most she can do is heal a few cuts and bruises, the half-breed unable to tend to major wounds.
PHYSICAL
Height/Weight: 5'7" // 135lbsAppearance:
pictured here
A girl of white hair and light blue eyes, Eirlys' skin is rather pale due to her race. Lacking the characteristic long ears of an elf, Eirlys' are noticeably shorter, being able to be hidden beneath her hair, though still possessing the pointed tips expected of an elf. Her body is slim, though athletic.
Markings?:
There's a scar on her back from the goblin ambush.
Hindrances:
It's difficult for her to move her left arm too quickly due to the lack of immediate attention to it when it had been broken by a cyclops. Ghost pains occur if she attempts to make swift movements with it.
Faceclaim:
Yuyuka Nekota - Hirunaka no Ryuusei
MENTAL
Personality:
If one can sum Eirlys up in one word, it'd be annoyed. Smiles from the light haired girl are often mocking and sarcastic, something that stems from her time of being looked at oddly due to her hair and eye color at regular human schools.
Although related to snow, her personality is rather fiery, Eirlys proving quite hot-headed at times, often snapping at others with the right provocation. She's not afraid to voice her opinions or her dislike of things and people. Blunt and sarcastic, it's hard to believe she can express moments of wisdom (coupled with her usage of curses, it's even more of a shock when she provides such insights).
She appreciates knowledge, something she inherited from her father, and can occasionally be found reading several types of books. When she's reading, she's mostly calm, and it's perhaps the best time to ask her for input or perhaps even strike up a conversation.
Health Issues?:

BACKSTORY
Parents:
Albain - Eirlys' father. A snow elf that appears young though is relatively old. Although wise, he gets rather upset whenever his age is brought into the conversation. Despite how many years he's lived, he loves Viola and Eirlys with all his heart. He is unable to stay with them because of his position in his tribe's Council, but he does make the effort to send letters and books relating to magic, as well as drop in on visits when available. Eirlys hasn't written to him in a long time due to her defect from the academy, and is unsure if she still possess the right to.
Viola Ákos - Eirlys' forty year old mother. She was young when she met Albain when he had traveled to negotiate with a tribe of nature elves. Kindness is something Eirlys often associates with her, Viola raising the girl by herself for a majority of years. Viola is what inspired Eirlys to be strong, and fears she'd be disappointed in her if she finds of her current "occupation."

Other Relations:
Matthew Cole - Eirlys' deceased bond partner. Affectionately called "Matt," he was an earth sprite. He was the one who dubbed Eirlys "Lys" and to this day, is still the only one allowed to call her such. They were each other's best friend, and though emotions that were surely platonic were there, it wouldn't have been a lie to say something even greater was shared. A cheerful youth with a lonely childhood, it was rare to find them apart. His death was ultimately the factor that pushed Eirlys towards the Resistance.
History:
Eirlys had a rather uneventful childhood. The biggest thing she recalls was most likely meeting her father for the first time (which was a rather extravagant event, considering he didn't even bother to change into something more modern, preferring to stay in his tribal robes). Learning she wasn't entirely human wasn't a surprise to her, what with hair and eyes that differed greatly from those around her as well as the random snowflakes she'd occasionally find upon waking up.
But that was during her youth before she had become a student at Finix.
She entered the school at a relatively young age, Eirlys barely even thirteen at the time. With her father away and her mother unable to provide much assistance, the Ákos family believed it would have been better for her to go to a place that can teach her to better control powers that had caused quite a snow day on the first day of spring.
Eirlys hated it. She hated being around kids scared of themselves. She hated the constant "It's fine. There are people like you here" speech. And most importantly, she hated being tied to someone she didn't even know. More than anything, she wanted to get away from it all, but it was Matthew's positive personality that allowed her to tolerate his company.
They spent years together until becoming members of the Guard, an achievement Eirlys was quietly proud of. They weren't members for too long, however, their first mission being their last. A group of eleven was sent to deal with a group of goblins, creatures that should have been easy to wipe out.
It's a shame each member of the assigned had underestimated what had been deemed as a threat.
They weren't informed of the two cyclopes that awaited them.
When she awoke from an ambush, all Eirlys felt was pain, pain, pain. She herself was injured, few ribs broken and perhaps even her arm, but the weight upon her chest was greater.
Matthew was dying, and she had to save him.
Losing an arm or a leg meant nothing to her as long as he was safe, but even that wasn't allowed. She found him, bruised and bloodied, yet even during his last breaths, he still offered a kind smile. When his green eyes were hidden, never to be seen again, behind his lids, a weight worth a thousand pounds was placed upon her chest. Her own anguish piled upon the pain of his death, such agony was turned into rage.
They were only rookies, so why had they been sent out on such a dangerous mission? Sure, there were veterans among them, but even so, why?
It was foolish, and despite the loyalty Matthew had for the school, it was something Eirlys simply couldn't accept. Right then and there, she vowed to avenge her fallen comrades, but most of all, her best friend and other half.
